Yes and no, I believe that it was a typical but in a slightly different way or reason. It started out as odd though with it being in my opinion a love match or close to it which during that time actual "Love matches" were rare. However the betrayal turned the tables. The obvious hurt feelings turned the marriage into the typical marriage of convenience, if for no other reason other than to punish Gigi.
