Historical Romance Discussion > Let us begin......

I will begin to post some questions based on the book Private Arrangements by Sherry Thomas. I hope to put up a new question every few days so that we can begin discussion. Some of the questions will be specific to the book and some general questions.

From what you know of the Victorian era, do you think this is a real portrayal of a marriage of the time?

Yes and no, I believe that it was a typical but in a slightly different way or reason. It started out as odd though with it being in my opinion a love match or close to it which during that time actual "Love matches" were rare. However the betrayal turned the tables. The obvious hurt feelings turned the marriage into the typical marriage of convenience, if for no other reason other than to punish Gigi.
