I am trying to find a book that i read a while back and it was about a lady and her cousin on the way to an extended visit to a relative, stopped the carriage to help someone who got robbed (and shot in the buttocks). The male in the carriage end up being friend of a earl or a duke... the heroine of the story did end up with the earl or duke at the end...
